big with: james huxley, norihiro kawai, ian pooley, james talk, andy baxter, the fix, kabuto & koji,.. introducing a new member to the get physical family: bristol based bronnt industies kapital. the seasoned and talented guy bartell has been making music for years. in fact he has two previously released artist albums under his belt. hard for justice, is an album filled with euphoric chords, complex melodies and resonant beats all connecting somewhere at the cross roads of kraftwerk and joy division. this single is all about expanding bronnts club land audience. how better to do that than have >objects & purpose<, the first single from bronnts debut album on get physical, remixed by booka shade vs. m.a.n.d.y. and lopazz.up first is m.a.n.d.y. vs. booka shade, both of whom need little to no introduction, but we will give them one anyway.
schieber continues its way into more easily grooving realms and comes up with these new, elegantly sparkling tracks by berlin resident drei farben house who has already caused a stir with his delicately balanced releases on force tracks and brut!. for schieber drei farben house gives two different insights into his understanding of house music: sander is more tracky and relies on looped chords which bring you closer to house heaven with every repetition, while manifold percussions together with the beats provide the necessary injection of funk. in contrast, anagram expands the frame of grooves and chords for finely ramified bell sounds and softly glowing melodies. for his remix of anagram house routinier prudo (moodmusic/dirt crew) reduces the melodies and displays a firework of funky sound bits - a perfect tighrope walk between minimal and house which combines the best of both worlds.

second single, taken from soliquids new album transportation. a driving melodic number, full of washing chords sequence, and jumpin beats. a real showcase for this guys talent. on the flip we have a remix from one of the shining stars of the house scene right now... paul keeley is currently prividing some of the hottest tech prog beats around, and his take on things looks set to wiggle many a floor at wmc.
and if that wasnt enough to be getting on with, the flip sees ctrl z on remix duties, providing their vision of the 2008 breakfastaz smash girls, money, drink and drugs featuring mc ivory. already a huge club record for those djs lucky enough to have copped the cdr from ctrl z himself, this has been begging for a release for a while and helps complete another piping hot package from the breakfast club.

>praia brava< is the first release from gavin herlihy since he jacked in his day job and moved to berlin to make tunes full time. the move is already paying dividends as, in additon to his forthcoming release for get phyiscals kindisch offshoot, this shimmering, melodic track is a radical change in direction from the overt punchy beats of his debut >machine ate my homework<. jesse roses supporting club tool made to play remix should not be overlooked either!! ltd re-release

played by villalobos & raresh !! what a way to start off 2009, a very strong ep delivered from catwash aka chris carrier & dj w!ld with remix from lemos & kreon. groovabilisme (original) hits with its’ crafty tech-house stomp, killer kick, and fun tribal groove. a very interesting concept on this production, as the deep grounding rhythm is super floor filling, yet the space between gives it the perfect air for the huge sub that just rolls this cut to the top of the charts. a sure shot for all players. kreon’s mix stylizes with more jack then jack himself. his vox arrangements give his cut a pop, lock, and rock it knack for the true school dancer. this remix takes any spot in a set, it’s got the capability to kick it big or be slow & deep, depending on how a player wishes to pitch it- a brilliant & effective production. lemos rocks the bells a for main lead rhythm, an excellent perspective to make for a clever & diversity ep. his mix creates a driving hypnotic bender with enough thump & smack to keep the bells intact and still lead the floor into a seductive sound scape of a moving utopia.
edit select number six sees the vinyl release of >on the run< by gary beck. originally released digitally by mezzotinto, its garys biggest track to date, featuring in the sets of richie hawtin, sven vath and adam beyer heavily over the last couple of years. the track has been completely re-mastered for 2009 and sounds just amazing. on the flip we have a tougher and more aggressive edit select update of the haunting original. the remix has received props from the likes of len faki, ben klock, marcel dettmann, and slam over the recent months. another sure shot for edit select.
including krazy baldhead (ed banger) and spitzer remixes..who could have forseen that 2 piano players, and a drummer would be enough to change the way music will be seem and listened to in the future.... well, these guys could well be as important as battles....
punx soundchecks sinister alter ego chanty poe grabs the zeitgeist by the cajones with this rave flavoured collision of electro, hip hop, bassline, and party techno. rising stars missoddkidd and c. monts make a guest appearance. support from mark moore, jagz kooner, tronik youth, infadels, xfm, kiss, (amongst many others), and received a 5 * review in dj magazine

andrea fioritos masterpiece la balada tzigana has finally taken shape and is ready for an immediate release for 2009. most definitely a release with haunting sense of musicality merging the mediterranean of the past and a timeless organic groove designed for dance floors worldwide. featuring the sultry spanish singer irina sierra bravo and accompanied by italian string composer leo gadaleta. the marriage between the two sounds is nothing but pure emotion, even drawing out the tears if i may. mike shannon delivers an ace of a remix stripping things down and emphasizing the groove. shannon truly puts the icing on the cake with this mix exploring the dynamics of the strings and the raw feeling of irinas vocals. truly a refreshing release of original dance floor inspired music.
mr. douglas greeds debut on lebensfreude. here together with drum n bass icon kemo he shakes with >deadline< a melodic murderers track from the sleeve which will provide a lot of soul and intensity for hopping hearts and dancing legs. less takes care of the subject more diminished, more chilly and still deeper.
ltd backstock !!! label chief and king of nyc late night mythology, francois k returns with a bit of his patented deep space madness. starting with a tempo reminiscent of a 45 played at 33 1/3, a delicate plucked bell-synth bathed in a medium hall reverb leaves ethereal impressions and late night energy. as the melody drops a minor third, another enchanting counter melody joins the mix and adds a rather divine legato styling. after the lead fades out, a percussive interlude full of syncopated noise hits develops: leaving room for a break that reintroduces the main vibe and instills a sense of resolution. the flip carries a remix from quiet village, who has been starting deep space nights with positively solid performances. taking a more club-hyped approach, this rework pounds forward with a massive rumbling kick drum and an underlying noise wash. the main lead gets some serious filter and delay treatment making for a more progressive drive and a versatile dancefloor hook. tweaking things a bit at the break, the melody morphs into a sort of latin-minded groove with portamento glides, edited accents and sharper hits. still keeping the passion and charm alive, the new demise accents francoiss tasteful tune while boasting contemporary excitement

huge collaboration of hardy hard, lady waks and afrika islam! their new project hardwaks comes along with a massive electro stomper featuring brilliant vocal shouts by the famous mr.x aka afrika islam. the message...bring the records back!!!
nice price deal !!! this is the first in an occasional series of dissident special projects. >i was recently asked to do a remix for a brand new tune by italo legend alexander robotnick< the result was 15 minutes of 808, burbling acid bass, pro one and heavily effected chicago style spoken vocals which was deemed too long to fit on the commercially released 12 so the label (this is music - run by simian mobile disco) thought it would be a good idea to release a very limited number of 12s as a promo only. so thats what this is, a joint dissident/this is music release of a remix that wont ever be available on any other vinyl issue. limited to 200 copies, one sided
